Jai Jagannath; Jai Mata Di – thank you for giving me the strength and stamina to finish my life adventure goals of finishing 7 summits and 7 Ironmans.

Unfortunate Ironman California 2024 Signup :

I signed up for the race on September 2nd 2024, keeping a few things on my mind. 1st be with my daughter Aditi on her birthday on 2nd Nov, before I move back to India on the 3rd. 2nd I was mentally and physically at the lowest level in my life, after running for the MLA elections in Odisha. It felt like people betrayed me, my family betrayed me, there is no place for truth in Indian politics. My financials were a disaster, my silicon valley career is a disaster now, and with this big loss I was a disaster. I needed something challenging to fix myself.

I felt so lonely at home in California, even with my wife and daughters around. I wanted to run away from the normal world. I wanted to just get lost in the mountains till I regained my senses. I was feeling sorry, I am not giving quality time to my teenage daughters. I have been away from family for the longest ever 2 years, and back with them I am not finding my connections.
Luckily there were some spots open in Ironman Sacramento, in my backyard to say as I live here. Now there is some fire coming up in all the smoke I was in. I fixed my tri-bike and went for a ride. I ran around our neighborhood, Lake Natoma. My mood started changing, I started fixing things around my home. Fixed the freeze, the dish-washer, my Royal Enfield motorcycle, the cars, the outer walls, and I fixed my garden. Along with it I started training for the Ironman race, which seems to have reversed my path towards destruction.

When you are low, you find ways to go further low. Unfortunately, while fixing my Subaru, I had to go under it. The nut was too tight and while trying to release it, I put a lot of power and the jack slipped off. I was crushed under my own car. The entire weight of the car fell on my left shoulder, and I heard the sounds of breaking bones. My bad I did not put extra fixed jacks, and my sixth sense of safety did not work. I think when you are low, your hard earned experience gift of sixth-sense do not work. It was a disaster on a pile of disasters. This happened on 11th September, and the race is in 6 weeks. I was not living in the USA, I had canceled my health insurance, and I had no money to go to an expensive private hospital. The only way out was to put ice 12 hours a day, and use the hard straps from previous accidents. Could not move for 10 days, just sit and watch TV and read books. Well maybe that was part of the plan God had for me. The idea of canceling the race and making life more miserable was not attractive. What worst can happen, physically I cannot run a mile, mentally I am a lone pig failure, emotionally I hated myself, financially I am broke, BUT there is no further low I can go. So I decided no matter what I will complete the race. I did not even have an x-ray done to find what was wrong inside my left shoulder, which bones are broken. It is moving but I can not lift even a 1KG weight.

Never Loose Hope

After 10 days of the accident I started training with one hand. Motivated my wife to go to India and attend the golden jubilee celebration of her college and not give it up for me. Also take care of our business, as I cannot go in this condition. In return I will take care of the house and the kids and will have enough time to train for the race. It worked, I fixed a disciplined plan for the next 28 days. Morning 6 wake-up, do the breakfast for the kids and drop them to school. Thereafter I do the gardening and clean the house. Then I go for a 6 mile run. After which I come back to do the strengthening of the legs and the working hand for 2 hours. Then spend 2-4 fours of exercising on my static training cycle depending on when the kids come back from school. Cook dinner, clean dishes, read a book and go to bed early around 9:30 PM. Things started looking good in 2 weeks, from 2 hours I slowly increased the training to 6 hours a day. Last 2 weeks before the race, I will alternate between long bike rides and long runs every other day.  I was shit scared about the swim, not even sure I will be able to get into the wet-suit, and how will I move my left hand. I avoided swimming till the last 4 days of the race. It was so painful on the first day of swimming to breathe from the right side which I am used to. Pain is the mother of new ideas to find alternate ways to swim. I quickly learned how to only breath on the left side and swim with minimum use of my left hand. Next 2 days I could swim up-to 3 KM in the pool. That gave me confidence, as the Sacramento Ironman swim is all downstream the American River. I just have to glide myself.

The race day – Ironman California 2024

Thanks to an idea from my fellow racer Ironman Amrik, about the rice ladoos or rice cake. I cooked sticky rice in coconut milk, added jaggery, shredded coconut, pistachios, dates to it and made 12 rice ladoos, 1 for every hour. My kids were the only support for the race. My daughter Aditi and our exchange student from Germany, Jakuk joined me for the race day. We started from home at 4:30 AM. We filled up the bottles, fixed the bike and the run gear and then I was off on the shuttle to the swim start.

The Swim (1 Hour 5 Mins for 4 KM):

It was a cold day, by the time my swim started it was 7:26 AM, and the water temperature was 15’C. With no open water swim practice, I was anxious, but the 3 days of practicing to swim with one hand and breath only on one side, and the downstream flow of the American river helped. I could swim non-stop till the finish line. 1 hour 5 minutes, the best swim time for me for a 4 KM distance. Wow! I do not wear a watch or any electronics to track my performance ever because it distracts me from the fun of the race. I just knew I had a great swim, till later I found out about my timing. My right hand was completely numb as I was extensively using it, so in the transition I had to request fellow races to zip and unzip my swim and bike gear. It took me 18 minutes to fix myself and go to my cycle, way too slow than any racer.

The Cycling (6 Hours 17 Mins for 180 KM):

I started slow and steady, as I cannot put pressure on the left hand. I would put the left hand on the right hand, and adjust most of the power to the right hand. The parallel bar helped and the figure 8 shoulder straps helped a lot by transferring the power from shoulders to armpits. The rice cakes were like a miracle of energy and stomach stability. On other races I would take the commercial supplements and suffer indigestion and gas all throughout the race. But this race was absolutely smooth. The headwinds did bother me while going up, but I stick to the plan of being on low gear, so I am not tempted to go fast, even If I want to. After 80 miles or so, I realized I have saved too much of the energy, there you go I was on fire the last 30 miles with 32 km/hr average speed. It was a great cycling time of 6 hours and 17 minutes for 180 kilometers. With one hand not fully operational, it takes time to change. From bike to run transition I took 11 minutes, again too slow, but not bad. Slow and steady wins the race, proved!

The Run (5 Hours 1 Min for 42 KM):

Again, I have it in mind, I will take it slow and steady. My run started at 3:19 PM, running with an average pace of 11 minutes a mile. Around half way I was very tired, so started walking, thinking no matter what even if I walk the rest I will finish in great time. But then I started chanting Jai Mata Di and Jai Jagannath vigorously and started breathing forcefully. That acted like magic, instead of walking I could finish the race all the way running. And to my surprise I was able to finish the race within 13 hours. Never give up, everything is possible with discipline and hard work.

Special Thanks to Support Team

Aditi and Jakub – My kids, my only support for the race, fed me with rice cakes everytime I crossed them on the race. Hats off to them they had been running around since 4 AM.

The made in Odisha Finish Line

It was a proud and honorable moment to put on a made in Odisha, Sambalpuri Shirt on a world stage at @inronmancalifornia. I wish all Odias to be more active and carry way more pride anywhere in the world they go. #MakeOdiasFit

Sidharth Routray – Ironman Lake Placid, USA. https://sidharthroutray.com/sidharth-routray-ironman-lake-placid-usa/ Tue, 09 May 2023 10:26:38 +0000 https://sidharthroutray.com/?p=1450 6th Ironman title – officially I am an Ironman Lake Placid, New York, USA.
Date: 24th July 2022.
It was my toughest race.

Pre Race Situation
After Everest on May 15, I did not get much time to prepare for the 6th Ironman race. It is not advisable to do such a huge race just after 50 days of climbing Mt. Everest. But I had little choice. It was put on to me as a rescheduled race of 2021, which was canceled due to Covid.

Ironman Training
Had to squeeze 3 months of training into 15 days. The eagerness to train harder and longer got me into knee injury. I tore one of my hamstring muscles and that started hurting my knees. I was not even able to walk. The last 5 days no training to rest the knee.

IVY League Trip
The trip was more important for my daughters than myself. As 11 of the top IVY League universities were near to the race. And I wanted them to spend a day with each one of them. See the campus, talk to students, and meet the professors. We went to universities like Harvard, MIT, Yale, Cornell, Brown, etc.

Lake Placid – The Beautiful Lake Town
After flying to New York, we rented a SUV to move around. We spent 2 days in the most beautiful place in the East of the USA, at Lake Placid. The lakes with mountains around them and the weather, the restaurants, the AIRBNB old bungalow we stayed in, were magical. My wife and kids helped with a lot of massage and knee treatment so I can walk around. Once I started walking around, I went kayaking with my daughters. That changed my feeling, and I dropped the idea of quitting the race.

The Best Swim Course: 1Hour: 40Min
On the race day my wife Anita, dropped me at the swim start with lot of blessings. This is the best lake to swim in for an Ironman race. I could see the clear water bottom even at the middle of the lake. I enjoyed the swim and did one of my best timings, 1 hour 40 minutes for 4 KM Swim.

The 180 KM, 6625 ft Elevation Gain – Scenic Cycling Course: 7Hour:18Min
After swimming I took it very coolly for the cycling part. The bike course is hilly with 6,625 ft of elevation gain. And that makes it tough, but the scenic bike route makes the race so beautiful that you forget your tough cycle route.  I could finish the 180km bike route in 7 hours and 18 minutes. 9 hours for cycling and swimming is a very respectable time, so I got excited about a good race time, even with 10 days of preparation.

42KM, 1022 ft elevation – Marathon at the end: 6Hour:58Min
I took a lot of time to change, put a lot of pain lotions on my knees, took a bath, and then changed to a running dress. I started running very nicely, around 7 minutes a kilometer. My daughter Aroha, who is in the high school cross country team, joined me as my motivator. It was fun running with her. Around 6 KM I started getting cramps and all of a sudden, the knee pain was back with full potency. I had to stop and start walking. The moment I start running again, the pain would increase progressively. I do not wear any watch or gadget in any races so that my focus is only to enjoy the race. But now with so much pain the fun was over. But my daughter came to my rescue. She calculated at what speed I can walk per minute to finish the race before time. Even with a broken shoulder bone after an accident in Ironman Canada, I could finish the race easier than with a painful knee. I walked the rest of the race at 10 min a kilometer and finished the marathon in 5 hours 58 minutes. Must Finish what you Started – Madichala. Thanks to my daughter Aroha. For the first time in life, after the race I fainted with exertion and dehydration.  But I was very happy I finished it with a lot of family support.

First Odia Ultraman – the toughest endurance race. https://sidharthroutray.com/first-odia-ultraman-the-toughest-endurance-race/ Thu, 17 Feb 2022 07:17:23 +0000 https://sidharthroutray.com/?p=445 Son of Sura Routray – Sidharth Routray completed the Ultraman Florida Race on 13 Feb 2022. He finished this three-day, 512 km multisport race in 31 hours 55 minutes. This triathlon includes 10 km of open-water swimming, 418 km cross-country cycling and an 84 km ultra-marathon run.

Impossible done – All credit goes to a great crew

  • Rick Van Tuly [Rick] – 3 times Ultraman
  • Manmadh Reba [Mann] – 3 time Ultraman
Rick Mann

Day1 Swimming – 6.2 miles [10 km] – 4 hour 59 minutes
Day1 Cycling – 90 mile [145 km] – 5 hour 38 minutes
Day2 Cycling – 170 miles [273 km] – 10 hour 42 minutes
Day3 Running – 52.4 miles [84 km] – 10 hours 35 minutes

Total Distance: 512 KM
Total Time: 31 hours 55 minutes

SwimBike
RunFinish

The extraordinary and experienced crew made me do these impossible in such easy ways:

  • My first ever and longest swim in life – 6.2 miles [10 km.]
  • My first ever and longest bike ride in a day – 170 miles [274 km]
  • My first ever and longest run in a day – 52 miles [84 km]
Cyclecycle

I signed up for it in 2019, trained for it, but it got canceled because of Covid. In the meanwhile my mountaineering hobby picked up as races were all canceled. I stopped training for triathlons.

I was away for 4 weeks on Aconcagua Expedition in Dec and Jan. The Ultraman team was trying to confirm if I am doing the race or not. Without internet in the mountain I did not see these emails and my phone wont work.

For me I was expecting to move it by a year, as I have a bigger mountaineering expedition coming up in march. I have to train for that and there is no time to train for Ultraman. And so far they had not found a crew for me. I replied if you cannot find a crew, please move me to next year.

On Jan 18th I got confirmation that I have Rick as my crew chief.
O oo ..  I had to train for Ultraman in 3 weeks.

I stopped mountaineering training and started ultraman training. A lot of hamstring and glute strengthening and pushups, 3-5 hours a day. I knew I needed the arms for the swim and the hamstring for the run and bike. Make it so strong that it would not cramp in an 11 hours run time.

Then I called Mann – my old friend who introduced me to triathlon. I am doing it, and you have to come.

ultraman bikeultraman bike
ultraman runultraman run

How was it possible to do this impossible:

  • Great crew – they knew what to do at what time
    • Strict instructions – Rick asked me keep 5 feet from the kayak, the kayak will stick to the course, if I am away or close, I am off the course. And every 30 minutes swim back to kayak, drink and eat.  I never swam a 10km distance, but it looked so easy at the end. Wow was the crew.
    • Experience – My crew had done these races themselves and knew every bit of it. Day 2 I got severe gas around 140 mile followed by diarrhea till the start of the run on day 3, my crew changed my nutrition plan and made me reach the finish line. No where I was to worry about direction, nutrition or anything, they were there every time at every place I needed them. Great Great Great – How cool they made this race.
    • No questions asked – hydration, nutrition, and solid food at specific intervals. Discipline is what keeps you away from cramps, and I had none during these extreme 3 days.
    • On day3 Manmadh made the run so easy, he himself ran around 29miles step by step, keeping me company. That is a long run for a crew member. Rick kept the food, nutrition, hydration on time, and Mann kept the pace. Unbelievable I did a 52 mile [82 KM] run without any pain or cramps.
      ultraman crew
  • Being Spiritual
    • Chanting – long breath and god and war cry – Breatheeee — Jai Mata Di – Breetheeee – Jai Jagannnath —- Breetheee – O YA YA. That takes you to a different zone, and makes impossible possible.
    • I even prayed to my bike – “Maa Durga Keep me safe”. I had 2 big collar bone operations riding this bike and I wanted no accident.
    • I had my team back in India do a prayer at our factory goddess – Maa Jhadeswari, especially after day 2 health conditions. The prayers worked, it rained at the perfect times where I was so heated up and dehydrated, and kept me running.
      ultraman
  • Mountaineering
    • I was at 24000ft, that’s a lot of red blood cells to help in ultra races.
    • Hypoxi low oxygen training made me train 3 times faster.
    • Although I did not train for Ultraman, the mountaineering training and the long hours of hiking in a low oxygen zone with a heavy backpack make you strong for any extreme conditions.
      ultraman double marathon
  • Army background [ Alumni – National Defence Academy India – Hunter Squandern]
    • Never give up
    • Do or die
    • Talk to mind
    • Find that inner strength
    • All these principles played a big role in completing the race. In the end it is more of a 50% mindgame to finish such extreme races.

      ultraman mind
  • My Dad – Suresh Routray
    • Madichala – keep going no matter what – it is his famous principles which are imbibed in me which consist of 4 things:
      • Fearless – I went and swam in that same lake alone and got my fear out.
      • Honest – It give that extra strength, “I don’t care I am truthful”
      • Hard Work – No matter where you work hard, it helps in extreme conditions.
      • Perseverance – Continue trying even though it is difficult, and the Ultraman is a perfect example for it.

        ultraman keep going
  • Enjoy Smile Be Happy
    • Someone asked me where is your garmin – I was like – I don’t even we’re a watch – just go have fun, no stress around position on time.
    • Keep it simple – food, nutrition, hydration – repeat the same at specific times, till the finish line, no excuses allowed.
    • Everytime you meet people or crew members – simple, dance a little, and throw the stress out.

      ultraman happy
  • The Ohana Family – The Organizers
    • It is a way different feeling than running an Ironman.
    • It is like a big family for 6 days, you laugh together, you suffer together.
    • It is like you are trying to finish and there are 20 people helping you do so, not just your own crew, but every other crew member who meets you on the way.

Loved it, thank you everyone who made me do this impossible task.

Ironman Mont Tremblant Canada 2019 https://sidharthroutray.com/ironman-mont-tremblant-canada-2019/ Wed, 21 Aug 2019 18:16:44 +0000 https://sidharthroutray.com/?p=250 5th Ironman Title for Odia Ironman, Sidharth Routray. A family travel to eastern Canada coupled with a Ironman Race at the end, at the beautiful town of Mont-Trembland.

A well balanced race between family time and adventure. Took the family to the beautiful Niagara Falls, Toronto and Montreal. It was amazing time spend at these beautiful Canadian Cities. The Niagara Falls were breathtaking and fun. I did a open water 5K swim with a local club, that was one of the best open water training center I have ever seen at Welland International Flatwater Centre: https://www.wifc.ca/.

The running trails in Toronto were the best I have seen in any city for running practice. Miles of green covered trails in the center of the city. Enjoyed the runs and the food and the downtown, and the hippie markets.

Montreal old town and downtown with all its historical buildings were a beautiful and friendly. A run at the Royal Hills and the food sitting on the streets was delicious.

The race was tougher than expected. I have to admit my 8 weeks training was not enough. At the same time I am very happy to finish it with comfort. The swim was excellent, as I did an effortless run, with little energy spent. Lake Tremblant is the best swimming course I have ever see. Nice clean, clear, not much wind, sweet water to relax and swim in.

The cycling was tough with 6000 feet of elevation. The hills towards the end of the race were killer. Around 150 km,lost the steam and legs started to tighten-up, slowed down for next 30 km. But finished with no cramps and no issues.

Run was tough too, I was tired, and there were many hills. 1500 feet of elevation on run, made it tougher, and I walked all up-hills. I filled ice into my running pants pockets, that helped avoid any cramps. I did not stress myself, finished the run with a stead pace. Was very happy that my wife and kids were there to cheer me during the run, that really helped.

Happy to finish the race, and still be able to walk to our ARBNB 3 km away, with no cramps and limping. A happy and comfortable race!

First Odia Ironman – Sidharth Routray – from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India

I really prepared hard, I would say excess for the 1st ever Ironman race, ran by an Odiya. Planned for a timing of 14 hours for 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycle and 42.2km run. I was surprised I could beat my own expectations by such huge margin. Its does prove the fact that, sweat more in peace, bleed less in war.

Due to bad weather the swim was cancelled, well it worked in my favor, as that was my weakest. I could have take 2 hours to finish the race. But I was so well prepared for the other two. I finished the cycle in 5 hours 30 minutes and the run run in 4 hours 20 minutes. What a amazing time of 9 hour 50 min. Proud of being a Odia who can do this.

It was a disciplined 16 weeks, as my wife was gone to India, and I was a single dad for many months. I have to manage daughter Aroha and Aditi and the house all on my own, and then do the training. I use to wake up and train for 2 hours in the morning. Then cook, take care of girls, send them to school, go to office, come back cook, clean, and wash, and then in the night from 9-11 go back to training.

On top of that, I had a big fight with top management, lost my job, 2 days before the race. You know what, I did the race with anger and challenge. And 5 days after the race, I got an amazing new job with double the salary. Credit goes to the extra confidence I got after finishing the race. Thank you Ironman.

Ironman Santa Rosa USA 2017 https://sidharthroutray.com/ironman-santa-rosa-usa-2017/ Fri, 02 Aug 2019 23:06:10 +0000 https://sidharthroutray.com/?p=101

This was the 2nd Ironman race for Odia Ironman – Sidharth Routray.
A very special race for me as my Father Sri Suresh Routray [MLA & Minister from Odisha] and Mother Malati Routray came to USA for the first time and were there at the finish line.

The preparation was going good. I use to cycle to-and-back from home to office for 45 km everyday. The swimming has improved a lot after lot of time learning from YouTube. And running was also improved, thanks to new running style learned from YouTube.

Unfortunately I met an accident 4 weeks before, during my cycling practice. A truck hit me on the road out of the blue. He said he did not see me because to sun shine. After 2 weeks of rest and 10 stitches to the legs, got back to training. Was not sure I will be able to finish it. Despite all the difficulties, presence of my parents made it possible to finish the race in 14 hours 21 min.

I have to say the training was not enough. After a slow swim, I took on the hilly Santa Rosa road, at a good speed. As the sun raised the day started heating up. After 150 km, my thighs froze. They were not tuned for 6 hours of stress. They gave up. I slowed down and cruised back to bike finish line, with nothing left on my legs for the run. I could not get down from the bike, and could not move after I got down from it. Thank God my parents were not nearby to see me in this misery. It took me 30 min, lots of salt and water, to be able to limp. I walked for 15 km, after which my legs started firing up. Jai mata di, there was no stop after that, I saw my parent and family cheering me, after that all the fire came back. I sprinted the rest 27 km to finish the race in 14:21:01 hours.

Proud to the son the real Ironman of Odisha – Sura Routray.

Ironman Whistler Canada 2018 https://sidharthroutray.com/ironman-whistler-canada-2018/ Fri, 02 Aug 2019 22:39:02 +0000 https://sidharthroutray.com/?p=81

Ironman from Bhubaneswar, Odisha finished IRONMAN Canada with Broken Collar Bone from a sever accident during the cycling stage.

Ironman Canada (3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling, 42.2 km run all in one day one after the other).

What a tough race with 35’C temp, high humidity and 8000 ft. of elevation gain. The 3 month preparation with 30 hours of rigorous training every week was good, and I had lot of hopes to get a good timing. Weekly train schedule was 50 Km running, 300 Km cycling and 15 km swimming. Unfortunately there was red alert for heat wave on the race day. I had to revise the expectation from 12.30 hours to 14 hours.

What a beautiful place, Whistler Canada is like the Kashmir of India or Switzerland of Europe. The most beautiful / difficult race off all in the American Continent. With the extreme heat and height gain, I was looking at many fellow racer giving up, and there were so many ambulance rescue in this race. I was talking to myself, why I am doing this race spending almost 2 lakhs of rupees on it. Am I crazy! Many of my athlete friends with whom I trained with, could not finish the race, they gave up because of cramps.

The race started at 7 AM. In the swim I made a blunder, as I had followed the 1/2 IRONMAN athletes, the other race going on that same day. Because of the wrong turn I had to swim 300m extra. I was worried, but thank GOD, I still made it before cut-off time. As the cycling progressed, I started having cramps around 110 km, into the race. My thighs were getting locked. I slowed down, and focused on reaching the 180 mark slow and steady. After 6.30 hours of cycling I reach the 170km mark. I became ambitious, and increased my speed for last 10 km. On one of the down slope, I was going more than 50 km/h on my cycle. Unfortunately at 173 km I lost balance, and had a sever crash. My right shoulder was swollen like a balloon and frozen. My helmet saved my head. There was bruises everywhere. Got severe cramps on legs because of the heavy impact. The race officials were asking me to go to hospital. I asked them to give me ice pack. It helped and I fixed my cycle, and cycled to the finish of the 180 km mark.

I went to changing room for run, had 20 salt capsules to stabilize the cramps on both legs. I put more ice on the shoulder, I got the hint it was broken in many places. But it never came to me to give up. I asked a fellow runner how to fight the sever crams, as salt is not helping. She told me to drink Pepsi. I gave up soft drinks 15 years for now. But it did helped once I started drinking Pepsi, the crams were not as sever as they were. Instead of dragging or walking, I was able to jog. I was chanting the name of goddess ‘JAI MATA DI’ all the way. Finished the race in 15 h 48m. What a memorable day it was. Now I am a officially an “IRONMAN CANADA”. After coming back home, went to hospital, and had to under go surgery to fix the broken bones. Hope to be back in shape for my next race in Lousiville, Kentuckey, USA in Oct 2018.

This race does prove, how you can talk to your mind to do the impossible.

Ironman Louisville USA 2018 https://sidharthroutray.com/ironman-louisville-usa-2018/ Thu, 01 Aug 2019 23:26:12 +0000 http://sidharthroutray.com/?p=1
Ironman Louisville

4th Ironaman for Sidharth Routray – The Ironman from Odisha. He finished 4 KM Swim, 180 Km cycling and 42 Km running in 12 hours 44 min. 13 hours of hard work with a smile all the way.

Good thing was the swim was all downstream in the Ohio River. His shoulder had no strength, so he had use specialized straps to transfer the weight to other hand muscles. Well it helped get to the finish line.

After the shoulder surgery because of the accident in Ironman Canada, got only few weeks to prepare. The doctor said no activity for 1 years, but he defied the same and did a Ironman after 10 weeks of the surgery.

The only exercise I did for 8 weeks was do the stair master. Climb around 600 floors a day. That helped, my legs were in super shape.

Plus my wife was there, we partied till 3 am, at Nashville, the country music capital of the world. That helped take all the stress away.

It was a rainy Ironman, it rained all day, may be that helped, as I was not dehydrated. Although I saw many people falling off the bike. I was super careful, as my shoulder surgery could not afford a fall.

Run was good, as the whole of downtown was out cheering us. But for my surgery It would have been a much better. Let see what there in 2019.
